I started a similar thread many m@@ns ago but couldn't find it.

Anyway, the intent is for y'all to post pictures & submit any tall tales of any past/present/future pets of yours.

Also any advice on raising pets, any concerns regarding pets, any plcae you like taking your pet, etc will be most welcomed as well.

My two Chocolate Labs Reggie "Freakin" Nelson(2006) and Timmy "Heisman" Tebow(2008) were both puppies for our last two Championships.

Maybe I need to get another puppy for this coming season.

A red and white miniature Poodle. Red colored with a white blaze on her forehead and chest and 4 white feet. She is 2 1/2 years old and rules the house. :)

No pets currently. We're gone a lot and wouldn't want to leave them alone. Maybe in the near future?

We have one dog, Chester, a Pudelpointer. Here is a video of him swimming in the pool. As you can see he has two balls in his mouth. One time he tried to put a tennis ball and a big blue ball in his mouth, but they would not fit. He then put the tennis ball inside the big blue ball and brought both back to me.

Well ... My 7 year old son loves animals....

Spike the fox terrier - a truly amazing dog.

a canary.

2 zebra finches - the first one he saw on a walk and knew it was not a native bird... So he caught it and gave it a home. The second he bought so it would have a friend.

2 canary zebra finch eggs - evidently the first finch was a male and the canary a female....even though it sings.

5 hermit crabs. 4 live in a habitat. The fifth is an escapee that appears every few weeks.

A dozen or so fiddler crabs which he insisted we catch at the beach last week..minus a couple that the squirrel ate.

Plenty of fish. 2 betas, couple skelton fish, couple dalmatian fish, 2 frogs, catfish and sucker fish. Forgive me if I don't know the correct names.

Several monarch butterfly chrysalis.

And todays acquisition... Grasshoppers.

The 14-year-old Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix found her abandoned (no wonder!) behind an apartment building. Her daughter picked the dog up, and at first they thought he was a rat! After realizing it was a dog, she decided to keep her.

We have a 10 year old female Yorkie & a 4 year old black w\ white trim female German Shepherd(part black lab) as shown in my avatar.

We also have a male Sun Conyer

Our Yorkie is queen of the household & the Shepherd is a member of the royal court.

The bird is a bodyguard.

have a hound (emmitt), a jack russell(sebastian), a persian/maine coon mix (sidney), and a siamese (nala). a menagerie. usually have some fish, but haven't in awhile. going to correct that soon.

Gumbo, our beloved Yorkie. Did not care for pets prior to getting Gumbo two years ago for the kids.

Fast forward to today, absolutely amazing dog. I just love watching him navigate a day, playing, investigating, napping here and there, protecting, he is flat out awesome.

This is my Bella, she is an Aussie shep/Blue Heeler mix. She is 3 1/2 now. She is bery lovable and non-aggressive. She is protective though. She follows me everywhere from the bathroom etc. She always had to be around me and snuggle with me.

thanks GP8. I got him from the rescue as a puppy. He was incredibly smart, knew all kinds of tricks. Was great with people and other animals too.

Wrigley (lab chow mix), Noel (cat) who passed last year and at my parent's house I have "Tim Tebow the cat" (full name) and Corey Brewer (cat). Corey Brewer was not a big fan of his headband and only wore it for this picture so we've renamed him Brandon Spikes the cat.

Landlord won't let us have pets, so right now I feed three to four feral/stray cats twice a day.

When I do buy pets this is exactly what I want - two Maine Coons, a gorgeous breed of Cat.

Aussie are super loyal and intelligent. My Bella is very non-aggressive, yet protective. She is very friendly and loves everyone except my brother Mark( I think it's because he is a nole fan). Still she doesn't attack him just lets him know she isn't happy because she is used to him. My Friend brought her yellow lab puppy over and that was the only dog Bella didn't like for some reason. Jazz is 14 blk lab mix and she could care less about other dogs. I have to say the Aussie Shep is the favorite dog I have ever had.

Had a doggie emergency tonight. I was eating pork ribs and gave the wifes yorkie a rib bone. 5 minutes later Mrs51 came in yelling that something was wrong with Demmi. She was choaking and going into doggie convulsions. She was foaming at the mouth and twitching as she gasped for air. Luckly there is a 24 hr emergency vet less than 2 miles from the house. The wife drove and I held the dog, she fought me all the way to the vet but a couple of blocks away she just went limp like she was giving up. When we got out of the Jeep at the vets she livened up again. The vet took her in the back room and a couple of minutes later Demmi Dog emerged as if nothing ever happened. The vet handed me a splintered rib bone and said "Do NOT ever give that dog another bone".

I couldn't believe it when the Vet told us there was no charge, then told us to get the heck out before she changed her mind.

Glad to hear your Yorkie made it thru the crises.

Our Yorkie went thru a similar spell a few weeks ago but she managed
to clear out what ever was causing the hacking before we had a chance to take
her to the vet.

I had a yellow lab named Chassahowtizka Gator Bait--fabulous, wonderful dog. The day I brought him home I went into labor with my son. :-))
I have also had: another yellow lab, Satch and Rottie, Bear.
Back to two rescue cats.Lots less work.

We have an 8yr ols female Shiba Inu (foxygirl) and an 8mo old Pitt Bull (Gator). I have a bunch of pics of Gator (my dog) but I will have to dig some up of Foxy. I can probably just pull some off FB. Pics soming up

And please, in advance, all you Pitt Haters don't come out with your stuff about this and that and they're all bad dogs and blah blah blah. I have had 3 Pitts and all were sweet as could be and were great with kids. It IS IS IS IS IS how you raise them and the breeder you get them from. So let's please not get into any pissing matches please. If you choose not to like the breed by all means it is your opinion and you have your reasons for it and I respect that. Thank you

My brother's dog, Woody. 9 month old Morkie, he is 8 lbs. and very well behaved. There were 78 people and 4 dogs at my aunt & uncle's farm last weekend and Woody loved them all.

So I just got my first dog a little over a year ago. My niece who visits my wife and I every summer said she wanted a Florida dog to my wife. My wife said she liked the idea, but you will have to talk to your Uncle. My niece, being all conspiratorial, told my wife let's just tell him we will call it Gator and he will let us get a dog. Needless to say we got Gator a few weeks later. A few months later we got another dog from Alabama we named Allee. Will try to post some pictures another day.

I'm sorry to say I had to put my cat, Sam, down because he had cancer. For the first time in many, many years I have no cat or dog in the house and it feels really weird. I can't even remember the last time I had no pet, but I'm going to wait until the time is right.

Sorry to interrupt the fun pictures. I am enjoying them! I think I'll take some toys and food to a shelter for the holidays.

i have a good friend who does Operation Catnip. they rescue stray neighborhood cats and spay and neuture (sp?) they would love any litter or any donations..pm me if interested:wave:

I've had 2 labrador retreivers. The first one was named Gator. Best dog I have ever been around. Two others: a second Lab--didn't measure up and we had them together for awhile--things didn't rub off. Third dog was a Rottie. Dumb and aggressive.
Back to cats. Much easier, care wise.

Seems like Boston Terriers are sliding over the last decade or so. Hard to believe since it seems I can go anywhere without seeing a Boston. I guess they just don't get registered as often. Labs and German Shepards at the top of the list doesn't surprise me.

We didn't think we liked Poodles either until we got our first by accidents, found her at about 4 months old in the middle of nowhere on I 10 in the panhandle. I think someone stopped and she got out by accident, she had a nice little collar and didn't look like she had just been dumped, but did look like she had been there a little bit.

Anyway we rescued her and ended up keeping her and our love affair with Poodles started. This one is our third one. Multi colored is very unusual for a poodle but we got lucky, with her markings and her disposition.

Then we ended getting a yellow lab/bulldawg mixed then a AKC German Shepherd to go along w\ a Sun Conyer & several cats to complete our zoo.

The Lab & the Shepherd have both passed away since & we have no cats.

We're now down to the Yorkie, another German Shepherd(black lab mixed) & the attack bird(SC).
