I guess you didn’t get the turntable option when you bought your car, eh?
A quick search and found a number of instructions for the process. Here is one (http://www.ehow.com/how_6495079_convert-vinyl-records-mp3s.html) of them that seems quite decent.
I ripped my collection of vinyl about 15 years ago and it wasn’t too horrible – just a matter of stopping and starting each song at the right time.
Have fun!

I would think that a USB turntable would be the easiest and stay all digital at the same time. I have seen them on some of the sites for under 40.00. http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=VS-2001-USBThttp://images.geeksimages.com/imageshare/v/70x70/vs-2001-usbt-unit.gif

if your turntable has a line out, you can do it just like ripping cassettes. Just connect the line out to the soundcard input and run your standard recording software. Audacity is good enough and its free.

Bought a USB turntable a couple of years ago, but like Jugger, I've yet to use it to rip files. I just wanted a new turntable and it seemed like the thing to do. I just bought a slightly older car without a mp3 adaptor, so I'm back to listening to CDs in my car. Listening to some early Wilco and early Talk Heads on vinyl today and was thinking how nice it would be to hear that stuff in my car.

Has anyone done a transfer of cassette/vinyl music to cd using the computer wav or mp3 programs? I have a lot of great songs on cassettes that I would love to get transferred onto CD. I saw a Youtube video about this process in which the instructor mentioned a downloadable program called "Audacity". Has anyone done the transfer using this program? if so was it reliable? If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to transfer music from cassettes to cd using the computer please let me know.
Thanks,
Alpha

I would love to have one of those. Hmm, I should try to see if they sell those online.
