Was it not I that said just a few months ago that Coach Muschamp plan is becoming obvious? Did I not say he will get all these kids from the Jacksonville/Daytona area Washington, Fulwood, Walker, Powell and have the team up to recruit Derrick Henry before its all said and done? That will give us our 3rd RB in this class, just wait on it. Walker will pop shortly and then they will turn their sight to Henry watch. If this wasnt the case, I cant see why none of the 3-4 speed guys havent committed to us yet, unless were telling them to wait on it!

The kid will be anything he wants if he came to UF. Do I want him no not more then Ryan Green and Tarean Folston to be the 3rd back but he is worth it and if he came here Muschamp will give him every opportunity to be that guy.

I am pretty sure they already had that talk and Champ told him other positions besides RB. Which was the right move IMO. Dont really see us taking Folston as the 3rd RB it needs to be a speed guy.

"The surprise of the day came from Fulwood, whose mother wasn't fond of Florida when they visited in early March. But after bonding with new UF offensive coordinator Brent Pease and seeing the need at receiver on Saturday, Fulwood convinced his mom Gainesville is the right place for him. The Jacksonville Bishop Kenny prospect told Rivals.com that she was “just as happy as I am.” So was UF head coach Will Muschamp.
"Coach Muschamp was ecstatic, he was happy for me," Fulwood said. "He couldn't stop giving me handshakes and hugging me. He told me it is great that I want to play there. He said I am going to be a part of the No. 1 class, the Florida Gator class."

It's hard to overstate exactly how big this is. Insert your favorite disclaimer here: verbal commitments are non-binding, lots of five star recruits flame out, etc. But this is exactly the kind of receiver we've been unable to sign recently. And to snatch him away from, among others, Alabama, is extraordinarily impressive.

My daughter at BK says we need to thank Nick Washington for Ahmad's commitment. He did the heavy lifting with Ahmad's mom, and ultimately Ahmad. He is a huge commit and will leave a great mark on the Florida record books before he has gone on to play on Sundays.

While Nick Washington was instrumental getting Ahmad to commit, it is my understanding that Coach Pease became very acquainted with Ahmad's mother which resulted in a good relationship and she gave her son the green light to commit to Florida. Special thanks to both Coach Pease and Washington for good team work and for selling the Gator program over Bama.

Dont agree with you at all about CWM and Henry and you dont see Folston as a speed guy is even more wrong to me. Folston fits that bill immensely but in all truth the way that Juice Johnson handled the rock, the need for a 3rd back is looking less likely. Juice is that speed guy for us if anything!

I am mean you dont have to agree with me but facts are facts maybe Justin can jump in and tell you about Henry and you will believe him. And Folston is not a speed guy look at his track times http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=2990981. The kid is running high 11.3- to 11.5 hundreds. Both guys can play no doubt and I wish them the best
just for some reference here are Josh Mercers track times 10.4's-10 low 11's. http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=1744991 And hopefully you have seen Ryan Greens highlights to see how explosive he is. Those are the type of guys Florida is look at as the 3rd RB.

Speed on the field and track times??? Hmmmmm...well im not trying prove anything about Henry, I just dont thonk thats how it played out with him and Coach Muschamp. Thankfully, the program's education/location/WR depth chart/coaching staff/etc should have made Washington's "job" a lot easier. I'm sure over this next year (and ultimately, the next 4-5 years) you'll get to know the coaches well. Welcome to the Gator Nation!

He seems like a great kid and I was really shocked with him committing so early because prior interviews did not have us in his top 5 and he was planning on making a commitment after all his officials. Needless to say I'm extremely happy we managed to get back into the running AND land him so early...I'm excited to see what he can do at UF.

This is a HUGE pick-up. Fulwood is the missing piece to this offense, along with a big physical running back, which I believe we also have in this class.
Fulwood reminds me a little bit of Julio Jones. Particularly that neither seems to look like they are moving as fast as they really are. They make it look very effortless.

Good looking kid. Smart, poised, very comfortable in front of the camera. He's my favorite in this class now. Like that he goes to Bishop Kenny. They don't tolerate any nonsense there and most kids that go there were raised right to begin with. Strong college prep curriculum. Big, tall, fast and great hands. What else can you ask for?

Fulwood, at least at this point, is not as big or as fast as Calvin Johnson.
Fulwood is currently listed a 4.47 40 where Johnson was listed as 4.5 coming out of HS. Johnson is listed now at 4.35 in the 40. But Johnson was a little taller and was about 15 lbs. heavier than Fulwood coming out of HS. Johnson is now listed at 6'5" and 236 lbs.
But the deceptiveness of his speed does look similar. But the funny thing is that at GT, Johnson rarely ever ran by people, mostly because they didn't have a QB capable of throwing the ball more than 40 yards and they had no accuracy at all. More often than not, the QB would just chuck a ball up in the air and Johnson would just go up and get it.
The thing that in my opinion makes Johnson so special is that he has always had incredible body control. It remains to be seen if Fulwood has that or not.

Wouldn't expect a highschool player to be as fast as his NFL counterpart.
But if Fulwood's speed is anywhere close to 4.47 now ... watch out!

That was my point. Fulwood is actually faster than Johnson was coming out of HS, but smaller. But for Johnson his speed really wasn't what made him great. It was his size and body control.

Doubt we actually know how fast Johnson was coming out of high school. 40 times for high school players have always been dodgy. I'd better that Ahmad is close to the same speed johnson was. Johnson was highly rated in that class, but wasn't ranked #1. He had a breakout collegiate career. Everything that happened to him can happen to Fullwood. He does have excellent body control, great hands and a lot of discipline. Not saying he will be the #1 overall pick in the draft, but his future is as bright as any WR who has signed with the Gators in years.

Driskel not liking weis. Didn't Hammond (one of our receivers) reiterate the same thing bout pease not yelling at them all the time and coaching them. One post. Said the whole blame urban (before the latest sportingnews article) was tiresome since it was getting to the point of acting like teenage girls who got dumped. Second post. Said neither driskel or brisset distinguished themselves last year and let the best qb play this fall. Third post. And my last regarding an early commitment who really hasn't been high on UF for all that long and that maybe a 17 year old might decommit. I really hope he doesn't. It was more of a question as to why the change of heart and why so fast. If anyone has an answer to my concerns, I'd love to hear them and not have to worry. How negative are these comments? If you can dispute any of them, I'd love to see it

He's more likely to stick than most of them. We'll get a commitment from a big time QB. He'll like that. We'll get one or two more Jacksonville kids. He'll like that. Then we'll get Tunsil. In the mean time, he'll bond with his new teammates and his coaches. No good reason to think we'll lose him unless you're just superstitious.
Don't know what the Tracy Howard comparison is about. He never committed to UF.

Gotta really like this guy. 6'4, 200lbs to boot.
Fulwood is an elite wide receiver. He has size you can't coach, he catches everything within his reach, he has deceptive speed, and he is someone who can really make big plays down the field. He can improve getting off the ball with quickness, his overall strength, and his down the field blocking. There are so many things to like about his game and he will be among the best in 2013. He is a very fluid receiver with size. - Chad Simmons

I just showed the picture to my daughter who said "I told him to buy it! He showed me a picture of it on his phone and asked me if it was too much and I said "No way! Be a proud Gator!" She thinks he is a really great guy...so we got that going for us...

Busboys were awesome. Saw them at the O'Connell Center in '83.

Are we talking about the same group that had a song in Ghostbusters? If so, yeah pretty good. Although that's the only song of theirs I've ever heard.

I was at that show...they were great! The BusBoys were awesome...funny as hell and could totally rock. "There Goes the Neighborhood" is one of my all-time favorite songs. And yes they were on the original Ghostbuters soundtrack, too. Should've been more famous.

Had a conversation with him yesterday.. Lawson is all Gator.. Wore a white suit with a gator tie and handkerchief.. And a old school gator hat.. The spring game sold him... Fsu is pushing hard to get him but they have no chance at all..

He talked to a few of their coaches early on but they have since backed off quite a bit.. Him not going to the A-day speaks volumes to me though.. He is all Gator..

Will be interesting to see how he moves up in rankings this season. From the way Bama recruits Florida and Crestview being so close to Pensacola it surprises me Bama coaches aren't really after him.

Which makes me wonder if any of this has changed lately. We are getting very close to Signing Day and I know one of our recruits is reported to be visiting Auburn. Ahmad may be getting pressure from the 2 schools in Alabama.
