Will a USB port to a USB on my TV allow me to watch the uf/fsu game on my tv through gatorvision? Would a USB to HDMI work better? Does one even exist?

Thanks

Unless your television allows for external storage play, probably not. There are convoluted methods of doing S-Video/DVI/VGA->HDMI, but they're not very elegant.

I have an HDMI port on my laptop and I still never use it because it's such a hassle. This is one of the reasons I'm excited about the Raspberry Pi (http://www.gatorcountry.com/swampgas/showthread.php?t=225128)

Do you have a PS3? You can grab the .flv file and have a local copy on your computer, stick it on a flash drive and play it directly from there.

What model is your TV? I know the latest models allow laptops to be connected to them via a digital A/V adapter and an HDMI cable

The best solution I have found is that my laptop has an Intel Core i5 processor (i3 and i7 work too) combined with a Netgear Push2TV which allows you to wirelessly stream your laptop to your TV. It connects to your TV by HDMI for a pretty seamless operation. The Push2TV can be found for about $75. Good quality video and audio.

My old laptop could connect directly with a VGA cable. My new one connects directly with an HDMI cable. Perhaps you have one of those ports.

Some TVs have a VGA input as well as HDMI input. If your laptop has an HDMI output, all you need is an HDMI cable. Just don't get one from Monster cables. Those are too expensive.
