Since I have a wireless Internet plan I have data usage restrictions, therefore I watch the usage pretty carefully. Lately I have noticed a big spike, so I watched site to site on what I use. What I noticed was that after the page at this site had loaded, it was still burning through data at the rate of almost a MB every 20 or 30 seconds for as long as my browser sat here. I am on Mac if it matters ( 2 years old or so), but like I said it's a recent problem.
Is this a known issue? If it can't be corrected it will greatly limit my time here.

Adblock?

Don't have any additional adblock software beyond what came standard, and nothing added in the last month for sure. Good thought though.

I think he is saying you need the adblock plugin on your browser. Continually refreshing ads or the video ads are the likely culprit, and adblock would block those ads thus fixing the problem.

Thanks.

Tried downloading an ad block from both c-net and an open source and neither seemed install properly. But just to make sure I came back here and the sane problem persisted.

Download Firefox for Mac and use the Adblock Plus!

I would use a network protocol analyzer like wireshark and look at the packets that is going through your computer to figure out what is being uploaded and downloaded.

I truly don't think it's ads unless they are running behind the scenes. On my Mac I generally don't get anything but static ads here, so i a thinking it is something else.

There's really nothing else on this page that brings in data post-load besides ads.
