I'm looking into getting a Theater in a Box system. Right now I have a Samsung TV so would like to stick with that brand. Anyone have any specific recommendations? I was looking at the HT-6500W but waiting for it to go on sale.

Most audiophiles will tell you that the theater in a box is a not a great way to go and that you should buy the components separately to build the best system.
However, its hard to beat the value of an all in one. Maybe someone on here as recently purchased a good one, otherwise I would just look reviews of the one you want and see what places like Cnet are saying about it.

Check out this link for some good CNET reviews. The Denon receiver and the Energy Take 5.1 classic speaker system --- a good combo!

Tons if things to consider here.. help us a little bit...
Do you want wireless surround sound speakers?
do you plan on connecting other video inputs (xbox 360, ps3, wii, etc)?
How big is your room?
Is it a dedicated home theater room or a family room?
do you live in an apartment or house?

This is for the family room. Right now I just have a 55" samsung and a dvd player so need to upgrade to blueray and get better sound. Room is probably 14 x 20 but is "open" to the kitchen. Not sure what other video inputs I might have in the future. The kids have an xbox and wii in the basement. Wouldnt want to have to run cables under carpeting so wireless rear speakers would be nice.

I got a Bose system that works like a champ for $300 at a pawn shop. May want to give that a shot.

Stay away from HTIB. you'd be better off long-run getting a decent receiver (Pioneer makes good ones that aren't terribly expensive) and piecing together speakers as you can afford them. Start with a pair of front speakers and a matched high-quality center speaker (important as 90% of your audio including dialogue comes through here), then add a decent sub, then complete it with the rear and (optionally) side surrounds later. Quality speakers can do so much more for a home theater than even surround sound can, as you'll hear things you won't with lower-end speakers. Energy is one company that makes good speakers at a really good price point. They're canadian and I believe owned by Klipsch.
If you want Blu-Ray and want to experience all it has to offer, you'd be doing yourself a disservice getting HTIB and not being able to truly enjoy the lossless sound.

not to be rude, but there is a reason audiophiles say "no highs, no lows, must be Bose." You can generally get much better sounding systems for less.

Good advice from helix...
If you really want to go wireless with your surround sound speakers, you can get a device that sends/receives to them.. I bought one on Amazon that worked fine. One thing to consider with this is that you will have to run wires to the antennae back to those 2 surround speakers.. so its not entirely wireless like the ones that come w/ the samsung HTIB (although these both need power). It worked for me in an apartment where i didn't want to spend $ to have the wires run properly.
