How is it? I've heard both it sucked and it is really good. I will say the graphics look amazing, definitely I'd get it on PC. But I want some opinions first before I make a purchase...

Console or PC? Sounds like there are some very serious graphical issues with the PC version.

The graphical issues are resolved with an easy driver update. If you get the game, and need the drivers just let me know and I'll give you the links.
Outside of that its a beautiful game. Its not going to revolutionize gaming in any way but it has plenty of variety, and good game mechanics. The driving portions are fun, but its predominantly a single player FPS ala Doom.

You must be talking about Battlefield 3. That game in its current beta form is a mess. Rage on the other hand is an enjoyable, graphically gorgeous game.

I was basing my comments simply on the chatter on the forums out there. I hadn't seen anything that id had fixed anything with the "tearing" issues. What driver updates fix this? I'm running an ATI HD4800 board on a Core i7 920 with 6GB DDR3 and was told to basically stay away from it. I have held up buying it until I saw that the problems were resolved.

I was not talking about B3, which I have not yet played.
Graphically gorgeous? I'll buy that. Enjoyable? Maybe for a few minutes.

Haven't actually played Rage yet(or opened it for that matter) but one of my XBL friends who got it(huge Gamer) says its pretty good.

I think when you first start playing it an are enamored with how it looks, totally. Then you start getting immersed in gameplay and the flaws - particularly mechanics and repetition become apparent.

Just finishing up resistance 3, and debating on what's next. I've had my eye on Rage for a while now. With uncharted 3 and BF BC 3 right around the corner, I think I'll pass. Those two are sure fire first day buys for me. (especially uncharted 3)

THe beta is from a 6 month old build. It was used to test server stability mostly. All of the bugs are already ironed out most likely. People forget, it was a BETA. It is not meant to be fully for your enjoyment, the purpose of a beta is to report bugs/glitches to the devs and test stability...

Got around to playing Rage yesterday for a couple hours.
The game's not bad, but so far it seems very linear even though there are usually multiple little missions you have to do.
I like it and think its fun, to me it feels like a combination of Borderlands combined with Fallout, and when i say Fallout i mean in the way your character moves.
It's not a bad game but if you're strapped for money i would save it for Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 or if you own PS3, Uncharted 3.

This pretty much means I'll be buying this later on when it drops. Thanks.

It's a decent game but if you can wait than wait for a price drop.
It feels like your controlling a fallout/oblivion type of game, but in first person mode.
The vehicles, the enemies, weapons and the map all have the feel of Borderlands.
It's a solid game but with some of the bigger titles coming out soon, i would wait on it.
My list of game preferences
1. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
2. Battlefield 3
3. Forza Motorsport 4
4. Batman Arkham Asylum
5. Gears of War 3
6. Rage
planning to get
1. Halo: Combat Evolved
2. Goldeneye Reloaded
might get
Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim

If you have a redbox machine near you, you can rent the game for $2 a day(if you have PS3)

I'm going to hold out and buy battle field 3, and then uncharted 3. Should be set for a few months with those two. I've heard too many mixed reviews on rage. Maybe later on.
