I have to tell you something Ray, when I started following my Gators in the early 1980's
I never thought we would never catch up in the series with either Georgia or Tennessee.
And when Spurs was blown out to the tune of 45-3 at Neyland to start his tenure, I really
believed I'd never see us come close to them in my lifetime unless something drastic changed.

Well, here we are in 2009 and ready to move ahead for the 1st time ever in the series.
This is one opponent that we should have always had an advantage over.
Does anyone realize we played (and lost) the 1st game to these clowns a year BEFORE
World War I ???

If it were not for the 1st 10-20 games that we lost before television was even invented, who
knows how much we would lead these clowns by.....

Isn't there a loophole here. I thought you weren't allowed to do any work on the Sabbath, thus you couldn't turn the TV on. But if you turned it on Friday night before dusk and left it on until the game started, you wouldn't be doing any work.

I was afraid we were a tad over confident. There is a positive, we can't suck any worse and they can not play any better, and we're up by 7. We're just flat and very conservative play calling. We will need to open this up a bit and go down the field some to loosen them up. Right now they're just playing tight to the line of scrimmage and there's no reason not to..

We'll learn a lot about this year's team and staff in the second half. After watching UT the last two weeks, to only be leading them by 1 score at halftime is abysmal. UCLA constantly made UT look stupid in Knoxville...I'm glad we start the half on D, because that's where it has to start for us. A 3-and-out statement to start the half, signal that UT isn't going to make us their clock-eating behotches like they did in the 1st half, BJ gets a big punt return chance, and we could get this thing loaded up.....if we let them eat 8 minutes and score, we're in a lot of trouble. This is how Ole Miss beat us - we played with no focus or intensity (which is hard to believe vs UT) and we let them hang around until the end, and any team can make 1 or 2 plays if you let them stay in the game.

Our WRs are giving us nothing at all. They are getting no separation from the DBs. Our OL is not doing a good job of pass protection. Addazio is being way too conservative with the play calling. Calling 40 dive plays is not the way to go. The DL is getting punished. All in all, a very poor performance compared to what we all expected. Tennessee looks really good.

He did it for a second then ran off the field. Howard did it for like 5-7 seconds in the UT backfield. Yes ... it was questionable ... but it wasn't a blatant miss.

No team ever plays a flawless season. I kind of compare it to the NCAA basketball championship. Every team that wins the title faces a tough game somewhere along the line that they should hammer a team and somehow they find a way to win and advance. Thats the way we need to look at this game. We didn't play our best football, and we still managed to find a way to win. At the end of the day we are still undefeated and have just as great as chance to play in the national championship as we did before this game. Win and advance, it's that simple.

Hopefully, as others have said, this was our Ole Miss and we won it...it took about five or six games last year before our offence started to kick in. I do believe our strategy was to wear them down with the Banzai. It was working, we would have been up 30-6 if Tebow had not fumbled...and Crompton would have been panic throwing after that with the potential for us to snag a couple picks for more scores...alas, that did not happen.

I think we see some better focus the rest of the year.

To Kiffen's credit, CBS interviewed him before the game, at the half and after the game with very little focus on Urban. So Kiffen is getting the pub the little tyke so craves...

At some point in time Meyer has got to make substitutions for the starting WRs to see if others can get separation. In addition, he needs to allow Brantley to take at least one or two possessions.

Tebow is not going to win the Heisman with these kinds of numbers and mistakes anyway so Meyer should start developing our next qb in big situations.
