Wow to say I am relieved is an understatement. Thank you Sturgis, you might have just saved the season! I really had no hope that we were going to win and we didn't deserve to win but I'll take it. This was no a good game for my blood pressure though! Finally exhaling!

I stand by every negative thing I said. I am SO grateful to our defense for their stellar play but we did not deserve to win this game.

That said, I'm very pleased they managed to pull it out in the end.

Great teams overcome adversity. We didn't play well today, but when the game was on the line our players came up big. I think they need a refresher on ball security this week though.

That's what I get for deciding not to go to the game (had to study). I missed the 2006 SCAR game for similar reasons.

It felt that way.

At least we didn't get an Ole Miss today:yes:

3 point win looked real good at the end of that game. Still undefeated and still on the road to another championship.

Oh cmon, that's ridiculous. I'm happy that we won, but it was a 3 point win against a team with a losing record. There's plenty to be disappointed about.

1996 Vanderbilt.

2006 South Carolina.

2008 Alabama SECCG.

All Champions MUST survive. On days when all is against them.

I don't apologize one bit for anything I said. We got lucky today and survived against a bad Arkansas team. We have a top defense, but our offense is in shambles right now and if we don't improve, I still don't see how we stay within three touchdowns of Bama. They might even shut us out if we played them right now. We won, and we're all relieved, but that doesn't mean we don't have some major concerns on offense right now. We all knew the WR position might be weak this year, but the OL got pushed around today, and that is cause for major concern. We did not play like a top 10 team today, nevermind playing like the #1 team. Unless Bama loses tonight it would not surprise me to see Bama go to #1 next week.

It's worth it. Some day, when you are up late working on a contract, checking to make sure that all of the references are correct, you didn't miss any points of law, and all of the names are correct, you'll be able to look back and remember that time you missed a once-in-a-lifetime game but you got to make money by working really, really late.

And all those future salespeople at the game, that are now making twice as much money for the worthless ability to have fun at work, will seem so much dumber than you.

Then you will wake up and change careers. But, for now, it is all worth it. Trust me.

I'm hoping this was just a letdown game with bad execution by the offense, and nothing more.

You just don't get it....Let me go back and find some good ones about coaches, players, posters and other jump off the ledge posts 5 minutes in and then half time. We won. The amount of uncivility around here during games, wins at that, is the worst. It goes above Zook and thats saying alot. We won. Enjoy the win and discuss the improvements on another thread with out bashing coaches, players, and posters. It is possible and will attract a larger audience and more input if its kept civil.

Interesting game. Champions find a way to win when things fall apart all around them. But I don't think I'm going to want to frequent the boards much this week. The analysis back and forth is going to be spirited.

Just bring on Miss State! We are still undefeated. And I don't care if we drop below Bama in the polls.....maybe that's what we need.

I didn't see the game when Alabama played Arkansas, but did the Arkansas D-line have any success getting to the Bama qb like they did to Tebow (in the 1st half) today?

I'm not saying I am sad we won, I am thrilled that we won. I am just beyond concerned what is going on with this offense. I am also concerned that we made a huge mistake with making Addazio our OL. You can be both happy that you won the game and concerned at the same time.

I'm afraid it might have been one of those situations that he was the next guy in line after Mullen, and since he's been doing a good job with the OL, he was rewarded the position. If we made a big deal about looking outside the UF campus for a new OC, he might've gotten pissed.

Agreed - there's no reason to call for crow-eating for criticizing a performance like this. We did a hell of a lot of things wrong today and benefitted greatly from some questionable calls.

that said, let's just enjoy the win and the (still) undefeated season! Go Gators!

Not as much, but they did put some pressure on him. Bama won primarily on turnovers. Their offense was not extremely effective either. Worked with a short field a lot.

We all know that all we're going to hear next week from the media, bloggers, and the haters is how the referees gave us the game with the two penalties at the end of the game. I thought the interference call was close and could have gone either way. I assume the second one was for taunting, it looked like the Arkansas player mouthed off after the play was over. Does anyone know for sure what the call was for ? It surely wasn't for the hit he put on our guy since our guy was trying to block him.

Had to watch the end on Tivo due to dinner with the inlaws

Riley was Doering-esque on that last drive. I was waiting all game for someone to step up. Thankfully someone finally did (besides Caleb that is).

Did anyone check the replay to see if Mallett was over the line of scrimmage when he threw that long TD?

Not sure which game you are thinking of, but Bama crushed Arky. They rolled up 425 total yards and scored 35 points, and only forced 1 turnover. McElroy threw for almost 300 yds and 3 TDs. Also, Georgia scored 52 on this team (which is ranked dead last in the SEC in defense).

WE on the other hand looked abysmal on offense against the league's worst D. Poor OL play, and Tim as usual had no one to throw to most of the game (interestingly, Meyer in the post-game said our O is not designed to hold the ball that long and put the sacks on WRs not getting open in time). I thought it was a combo of poor protection and WRs not getting open, but whichever, Tebow had to run for his life again. Once again, our TE was our leading receiver, and that is a problem. We survived today but need to fix these problems asap- we can't afford to keep putting so much pressure on our defense.

(cue the pollyanas who will respond "how dare you criticize the Gators, hey a win is a win, defense wins championships, or some other nonsense, simply for pointing out the obvious.) We all love the Gators, but our passing offense is anemic.
