He made it through another tour. My Marine. My beautiful son, my graceful 2nd baseman with the cannon arm, piroutetting turner of double plays, the class clown of 2 high schools who caused so very many phone calls here to begin "Is this J's father?", my paddling partner and hiking buddy is back. For us the days when a short news blurb on the radio "Three Marines were killed today when...." could make our hearts stop and our blood run cold are over. But those days continue for the families of the 190,000 that remain in harm's way doing what their country aks. May they all come home safely.

ursidman,
After reading your post, I can just see the expressions on you and your family's faces when you saw him walking towards all of you. It made me remember seeing a big warm glow surrounding my family when I walked off the plane. Bless your son for keeping his head down and making it home ok.

Thank you for raising that son and a special thanks to him for his service. As the father of a 15 year old I can almost imagine what that feeling would be with a son in that situation. God bless your whole family and the men and their families that serve.
