I was in a 12' john boat with 5hp motor, and the genius I'm with (from about 12') takes the boat paddle, and splashes the thing with water. Well, when it rolled off the log (picture 2 frantic 12/13 yo), the motor wouldn't start, then about 4' from tyhe damn water rolls and the tips, not over, but tips. Whew. The motor starts, we hit the gas and never look back. damn we got lucky!

when we first moved here, got an upstairs apartment, while house shopping...it had a small balcony, that i hung some plants out on, and had a plant stand with others, but had a small boston fern, and every year these cute little finches would nest in it. so tiny. and it was so cute when they were learning to fly, cuz they'd sit on the edge of the next (which was what they had turned the center of the fern into..) when they were all flapping those wings,sitting on the edge of that fern/nest, it would make it revolve around...i wish i could have gotten pics. but it was so close, they'd get nervous and this was years ago, didn't have digital cam, just an old 35 mm.
they're so cheerful and interesting to watch the whole cycle, from her nesting, the eggs, waiting to hatch, then they hatch and you get the 'ugly babies' and watching them get feathers and grow. loved it too. great pics slink

i have kept forgetting to get the daylilies, and the rose of sharon...(the rose of sharon is just a small hibiscus...same leaves..same flower, except comes in pastel colors and smaller blooms....white, pale purple, and a deeper, but not real deep, purple) i guess its the northern tolerant version..lol...

secondly save those, you won't see those babies down here, but it is worth the change...... some nice orchids in my yard, a lot of hibiscus, crotons, jasmine, gardenias, etc..... you will love the ease in growing

i can't wait. these things....azaleas, forsythias, jeeeeeez they always need trimming!!!! and the holly bushes...and those are taken during before we had the dudes come in and clean up and prune everything so its still got that 'wild' look to it, lol.....
i like that pic of him and the doggy too. they are buddies...that dog is SO spoiled now, son said, 'you guys are ruining him!!!!'

see the support on the carport towards the front of the stang, and how downhill that driveway is...that support is what slammed the door against my leg when it rolled, and held it there....won't miss that driveway...cept the forsythia, and even they are a bitch to keep pruned in the summer, they grow like crazy, but of course the blooming is waaaaaaay over.

got pics of the state capitol and the surrounding beautiful gardens, not a lot, cuz we were hungry....but when that card gets full i'll post them. kentucky has a beautiful state capitol building....

its mostly better, sometimes it kinda 'gives'...no other way to put it, your meniscus is your padding between the two bones connecting at your knee. alot better than it was. occasionally i am even in my 'high steppers' lol...my tall shoes.....long as i don't have a lot of walking to do, but dammit was driving me nuts NOT to be able to wear da shoes!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much. It was one of the best Gator game days ever. Cool shady breeze, cold drinks, no glare on tv at all. Watched Tex/OU and had chili dogs for lunch, watched USCe/Ky. then cruised. The LSU fans were very rowdy on the corner, out in the road and imho dangerous in traffic. Got a free mini football and Go Gators towel at some Fox Sports set up on Univ., Then got a free 'Breakfast w/ the Gators' T-shirt and a Gators football car magnet at the Odome. The steaks were so tender, and it was the first steak I had in a month. So delicious. Then right to enjoying the game. One of the best Gator game days ever

So, Friday nite I'm walking into the Spruce Creek vs. Lake Brantley playoff game and my phone rings. A friend who had 2 tickets couldnt go yesterday. I told him I had to work until noon but he said I could have them if I wanted for free(he is a good friend). I couldnt find anyone else who could go with me on short notice, I tried to give them to a couple of guys at work to take their son, but they both couldnt. So I worked from 7-10:30 and hauled butt to catch the last park n ride bus from the Hilton. It was a good parking plan because it was late and I cant walk far because my back problems are giving me leg/knee spasms. I gave the spare ticket to some folks who had a bunch of kids, and it was already time for kickoff. I missed the senior day and Mr. 2bits cheers, but had a great time.
