UF women’s hoops earn No. 9 seed

After a 10-day wait following the team’s loss to Kentucky in the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament, the Florida Gators women’s basketball team earned its first tournament bid since the 2008-09 season.

The Gators (19-12, 8-8 SEC) earned a No. 9 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, and will take on the No. 8 seed Ohio State Buckeyes (25-6, 11-5 in Big 10 Conference) in the Des Moines Region.

Florida will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face the Buckeyes on Sunday at 12:15 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
