ShareTim Walton: Time to be ‘exciting’
“Excite” is an important word in the vocabulary of No. 3 Florida Gators softball head coach Tim Walton. He uses it in all its forms, “exciting,” “excitement,” and “excited.” Walton’s intention is to make sure his team keeps the audience interested.
“He always says to be exciting to watch – a lot of energy,” junior Ensley Gammel said. “We love the game, so play like we love the game with intense energy.”
The Gators traveled to California last weekend to compete in a tournament consisting of three Top 25 teams. Walton was surprised by the amount of Gators fans that attended the games. Dressed in their orange and blue, fully equipped with posters and eagerly awaiting autographs, Walton didn’t quite understand why the Gators had so much appeal across the country. So, he did what any curious person would do, he asked a fan.
