Florida is headed to the Final Four in just the third year of the women’s lacrosse program’s existence.
It’s a remarkable accomplishment for the Gators, and the emotions and newness of everything is slowly sinking in for players and coaches as they make their way to Stony Brook to try to raise the bar for the program even higher.
What isn’t new for the Gators is their opponent.
No. 1 Florida will take on No. 4 Syracuse in a rematch of a regular-season game that went to a thrilling, down-to-the-wire overtime finish. The Orange knocked off the Gators 12-11 in stunning fashion on Florida’s home field.
