Sami Fagan fuels Florida in first round

Sami Fagan made sure the Gators didn’t waste another Lauren Haeger gem against the LSU Tigers.

The third baseman slapped an RBI single up the middle off senior right-hander Brittany Mack in the fifth giving the Gators its first lead and hit Thursday afternoon in the Southeastern Conference Quarterfinals.

Third-seeded Florida, fueled by the Fagan heroics, defeated sixth-seeded LSU 1-0 at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
