The No. 3 Florida Gators gymnastics (6-0 overall, 2-0 in Southeastern Conference play) team heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a dual meet against the defending NCAA champion and No. 6 Alabama (5-0, 2-0). The meet begins at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Coleman Coliseum. The Gators last won at Alabama back in 1985 when the SEC title was on the line. They last won a dual meet in the Coleman Coliseum in 1979.

This will be the 33rd consecutive meeting between the teams where both programs are ranked in the top-10. The Crimson Tide leads the Gators 19-12-1, but since 2007, the two teams are even at 8-8-1 each.

Last weekend, Florida earned first place in the quad meet, knocking off the No. 1 gymnastics team in the country for the first time in 23 years in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in front of 6,198 ecastic fans.
