Gym Gators head to No. 14 Auburn
The No. 2 Florida gymnastics team (7-1, 3-1 SEC) will be in Auburn Arena at 8 p.m. Friday night for its final road meet of its Southeastern Conference schedule. No. 17 Auburn (3-8, 0-4 SEC) hosts the Gators gymnastics team, which will be the first UF team to set foot in the new arena.
The Gators are 59-11 all-time against the Tigers with the last three out of the five visits ending victoriously for Florida. The margin of victory in the last four of five meets at Auburn is by 0.50 or less. In the all-time series, four of Florida’s losses to Auburn have been by .15 or less.
This is the fourth consecutive meet in which Florida will battle a team among the Top 20 national rankings. On Jan. 27, the Gators defeated then-No. 1 Arkansas, then-No. 24 Maryland and Bridgeport in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The Gators then lost to defending NCAA Champion and then-No. 6 Alabama on Feb. 3 in the Coleman Coliseum. The Gators rebounded that defeat with victory a week later against then-No. 14 LSU in the Link to Pink meet on Feb. 10 in the O’Connell Center.
