The No. 14 seed Florida volleyball team (26-4) opened up NCAA First Round action Friday night with a 3-0 sweep (25-9, 25-21, 25-21) against Tulsa (26-10) in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. It was the first time the two schools have met. The Gators face College of Charleston (27-7) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the O’Dome. The Cougars claimed a spot in Saturday’s night action after a 3-2 thrilling upset against No. 23 Miami (Fla.) (25-6) on Friday.

Senior right-side hitter Tangerine Wiggs led the way for the Gators hitting on a .667 clip for eight kills and two blocks. Junior middle blocker Chloe Mann was sensational, leading the match with six blocks and recording 10 kills on a .500 hitting clip.

“She set the tone early on,” Florida coach Mary Wise said of Chloe Mann. “She was part of the first block for the first point of the match and that’s where Chloe’s game has evolved. She will not get as many attempts as an outside hitter so for her to score that many points, she’s doing something right.”
