ShareJennifer George gels with Gators
Last season, junior Jennifer George averaged a modest 6.8 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. George got to contribute in all the games for the Gators, but she only had the opportunity to start six of the 35 games. It was no surprise George got the call to start this season with fellow senior center Azania Stewart, but few expected her to make this big of an impact.
After beginning the season with a less-than-stellar performance of three rebounds and zero points against Michigan, George looked like she was a non-factor this season, but then she exploded. Her production went off the charts averaging 14.4 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. On top of that, she had ten double-doubles, which is good for fourth in the NCAA, this season, and eight of those came in an impressive streak of consecutive games.
