The No. 2/4 Florida Gators were successful in their first tournament of the season by winning all five of their games.

The last day of the USF-Fairfield Inn and Suites Tampa North Tournament was a different scene from just two days ago when the softball games commenced. The air was brisk and the sky was blue on Sunday when the Gators stepped up to the plate for their first game of the day against South Florida. There was a record attendance for the USF Softball Stadium of 1,261 fans to watch the in-state matchup.

With three games under their belt, the Gators hoped to continue their shutout and run-rule streak against USF and Florida Gulf Coast, but fell short. The Bulls scored two runs on the Gators, but the Orange and Blue remained undefeated with 3-2 win. The Gators played FGCU immediately after USF and defeated the Eagles 5-0.
