Gators soccer stunned by ‘Canes

Friday night, the No. 21 Florida Gators stepped onto the field at James G. Pressley Stadium expecting to start the season on the right foot against a Miami Hurricanes squad which they beat three years in a row.

Miami had other plans.

The Hurricanes (1-0) dominated the Gators (0-1,) in embarrassing fashion by a score of 4-1. This was the first time Florida lost a season opener since 2002 against Michigan.
