ATHENS, GA --- The moment Maranda Smith fell, just a couple of moments after her bars routine began, it was like a virus on the loose in a first grade class. Instead of sniffles turning into sneezes and wheezes, this was bobbles and wobbles turning into near falls. It took two full rotations for the epidemic to work its way through Florida’s gymnastics team but by the time the Gators were back to normal, a chance to win a national championship had passed them by.
