Florida coach Gregg Troy noted that Friday would be the Gators "weakest" day of the NCAA Championships, based on the events. / Gator Country file photo by Tim Casey

The 200 IM was just another day at the pool for Marcin Cieslak. Cieslak was able to finish second by stopping the clock at a career-best 1:42.26, a time less than three-tenths of a second behind first place. The sophomore’s time is the third quickest in Florida’s history, only behind Bradley Ally and Ryan Lochte.

“Every time I go in the water, I just try and swim the fastest I can,” said Cieslak. “I just want to go out there and do my best every race.”

After the first day of competition at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., the Florida men’s swimming and diving team finished in 8th with 58 points.
