Lauren Embree was so dominant she sent the UCF Knights back into the dark ages in Florida’s 7-0 win. Embree continued her 2012 quest for total domination in singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win over UCF’s Genevieve Lorbergs. Embree has not lost a game in Florida’s first two games in singles play.

“These past two matches I've been serving really well which is helping a lot and I feel like I've just been trying to work on being more aggressive and shortening the points a little bit,” said Embree about her performance.

The rest of the Gators found success in singles play. Caroline Hitimana also was unbeaten in singles play in her 6-0, 6-0 win against Josephine Haraldson. Joanna Mather battled Jenna Doefler and was able to win the first set 7-5. She then breezed through the second set 6-0 to complete the victory. Alex Cercone was triumphant against Taylor Dubins, 6-1, 6-1. Allie Will cranked out a 6-4, 6-1 win over Alexis Rodriguez. Sofie Oyen overpowered Allison Hodges, 6-2, 6-1.
