The University of Florida picks up three 2011 regional National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) awards. Sophomore All-American Ashanée Dickerson shares the NACGC Southeast Region Gymnast of the Year award with Georgia senior Cassidy McComb. The entire Gator staff swept the coaching honors, as Rhonda Faehn is the NACGC Southeast Region Coach of the Year and the regional assistant coach honor went to UF’s Adrian Burde and Robert Ladanyi.

This is the second consecutive NACGC Southeast Region Gymnast of the Year honor for Dickerson and she is the only Gator to ever receive the honor. She leads the Gators again in 2011 with 23 event titles, which includes the Southeastern Conference floor exercise crown. In the final national rankings following the regular season, Dickerson is ranked among the top 11 in four events (No. 1 floor, No. T-6 vault, No. 7 all-around and No. T-11 balance beam).

Faehn earns the Southeast Region Coach of the Year award for the second consecutive year, as it is the fifth such honor in her nine years with the Gator program. Burde was named the 2007 regional coach of the year in his first season with UF and this is the first such honor for Ladanyi. This season, the Gators held the nation’s No. 1 position in every ranking of the regular season and are in the top two of every event in the final regular-season report – No. 1 floor, No. 2 in vault, bars and beam.

Florida advances to the 2011 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, set for April 15-17 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Gators are the No. 5 seed and will compete in the second semifinal session which begins at 6 p.m. ET in the Wolstein Center. The Gators are making their 29th appearance in the 30-year history of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships.
