The Gators knew what they needed to do to win the Southeastern Conference title heading into the weekend series against SEC powerhouse and rival Alabama.

No. 6 Florida (44-8, 21-5 SEC) used a 3-for-4, 2 RBI performance by freshman slugger Lauren Haeger to beat No. 3 Crimson Tide in front of an enormous crowd of 3,248 at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday.

The Gators will take on Alabama on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET in the second game of the series on ESPN2. If the Gators win at least one more, they will clinch a share of the regular season conference title. The Gators need to win both games to win the conference outright.
