ShareFlorida falls short in NCAA Championship
The Florida Gators gymnastics team came up just short in Saturday’s NCAA Super Six competition. The Gators who were ranked No. 1 coming in the NCAA Championships were edged by Alabama, who claimed its second consecutive national title.
In taking their program’s sixth national championship, the Crimson Tide edged the Gators out of title by .075, 197.850-197.775. Florida was assigned the same rotation as Friday night-vault, bars, beam and floor.
Florida scored a 49.475 on the vault, 49.425 on the bars, 49.475 on the beam and a 49.400 on the floor. While the Gators scores faltered slightly on the vault and bars event from Friday night, Florida made a tremendous improvement on the beam and floor scoring 0.125 better on both events.
