Florida dominates ALC championship
Florida showed why it has the second-best offense in the nation with a potent attack in Saturday’s 14-7 win against Northwestern in the American Lacrosse Conference championship. Shannon Gilroy led the charge with a career-high seven goals.
“It was amazing. (Gilroy) dominated the draw and then to be able to score on the other end just says a lot about her athleticism,” said UF coach Amanda O’Leary.
Gilroy and the top-seeded Florida Gators (17-2, 5-0) stomped second-seeded Northwestern Wildcats (17-2, 4-1) for the second time in two weeks.
The Gators outhustled the Wildcats, which entered the tourney No. 1 in the national rankings, in every facet of the match.
