Florida Softball Reveals TV Schedule

Few teams have captured Gators fans’ attention over the years like the Florida women’s softball squad.

Tim Walton’s program has gone from a relative unknown to a national powerhouse in a matter of years and has quickly developed into a must-see for fans in and around Gainesville, as overflow crowds have become the norm as of late at Katie Seashole Pressley Stadium.

On Monday, it was announced the No. 14/15 Gators will be a little more visible in 2013, as Florida will play in eight televised regular season games this year.

The SEC will have 35 televised contests, with 23 being broadcast on ESPN, and the rest being divvied up between Fox Sports Net and CSS.

The Gators’ first televised series will be during their conference home opener, as they will host the Tennessee Volunteers from March 15-17. The Friday evening game on the March 16 will be shown on FSN/Sun Sports, while the next two will be broadcast on ESPNU and FSN respectively.

The Gators will appear on television during their home series finale against Arkansas on March 24 (SUN/FOX Sports Florida) and then again the following Wednesday at home against FSU (SUN/FOX Sports Florida).

Florida will have a Saturday afternoon game against Kentucky shown live on ESPNU on April 13 and will wrap up their regular season TV schedule against Georgia at home, where ESPNU and CSS will show the Saturday and Sunday contests.

In addition to the regular season schedule, the SEC tournament will be shown in its entirety on ESPNU from May 8-11.

The Florida softball team will kick-off the regular season this weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. The Gators’ first game will be against Creighton at 5 p.m.
