Florida Gators soccer defeats LSU 3-0

The 10th ranked Florida Gators (8-3) soccer team traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Friday night to take on the LSU Tigers (6-7). The 3-0 win was Florida’s second consecutive shutout and SEC win after beating Tennessee 2-0 on Sunday.
The Gators were dominating the entire game, leaving the Tigers on their heels all night. Florida outshot LSU 27-3, with 12-0 advantage in shots on goal.
started things off for the Gators in the first half with a header on the cross from Samantha Chung in the ninth minute of the game. Florida had several opportunities throughout the rest of the half, but went quietly into halftime.
Two Gators, Kit Loferski and Julia Lester, scored their first goals of the season in the second half. In the 57th minute, Loferski put in a cross from Sarah Troccoli to give Florida a 2-0 lead. Lester finished it in the final minutes with a hard driven shot from the top of the box perfectly placed in the lower left corner, assisted by Monteagudo.

The Gators head back home play the Georgia Bulldogs next Thursday, October 6 at 6:00 p.m. before going back on the road for two more huge SEC games at Ole Miss and South Carolina.
