Arrest for switching price tags? In Omaha? Only FSU…

 Jun 19  |  0 Comments  |

Just one day after Florida went 0-2 and BBQ at the College World Series in Omaha, the Gators' biggest rival made quite a splash in Omaha.

Playing in an elimination game against UCLA, Florida State won by a huge margin to … oh, wait the Seminoles haven’t actually played yet.

The news?

Freshman John Holland was arrested for switching the price tag on an item at a sporting goods store, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The infielder has eight doubles this year, but apparently he wasn’t sly enough to keep a store employee at Scheels from doing a double-take when he was fooling around with the price tags.

Every college football player who has ever been to a bowl game is laughing at college baseball players now as they watch ESPN on their flat-screen bowl gifts or look through their closets full of free gear. Seriously, step your game up, Omaha.

Unfortunately, the Orlando Sentinel story has no mention of what two items Holland was switching the price tags on, which leaves only conjecture for us.

I’ve never heard of a cup fancy enough to make it worth switching price tags on, but who knows where technology is at these days.

Only an FSU player, right?

Let’s hear what you think Holland was after with his failed sleight of hand in the comments below.
