When Knight decides dominoes will fall

http://www.gatorcountry.com

NASHVILLE --- Outwardly, the Kentucky faithful speak confidently when the subject of Brandon Knight (6-4, 190, Fort Lauderdale, FL Pine Crest #3 ESPNU 100) comes up. They talk about all the reasons why the nation’s most highly regarded yet unsigned basketball prospect will eventually “do the right thing” and choose Big Blue. It’s all just a façade. Inwardly, they’re nervous just like everybody else.

Rivers gets his state championship

http://www.gatorcountry.com

LAKELAND --- One of the more underrated perks per winning a state championship is the ride home. Having endured the ride home from hell last year after Winter Park lost in the Class 6A championship game to Orlando Olympia, Austin Rivers savored the thought of celebrating with his teammates on the hour-long bus ride home Saturday night after the Wildcats blew out cross-town rival Dr. Phillips, 76-57, at the Lakeland Center.

Rivers says he’s all Gator, sort of

http://www.gatorcountry.com

LAKELAND --- Austin Rivers is all Gator all the time. Sort of. He says he loves the Gators, but nearly every time he adds the words “right now” into his explanations, which seems to leave the door open that he might not be a Gator in 2011.

A state title looms for Brandon Knight

http://www.gatorcountry.com

LAKELAND --- Brandon Knight casts a weary eye skyward, almost as if he’s saying, “Lord, just let this get over with quickly.” Reporters with microphones have stopped him in the hallway and he already knows the subject before the first question is asked. There are certain aspects of recruiting that don’t bother him at all. All the attention he’s getting does bother him and he’s ready to get it over with. Soon can’t get here soon enough.

Wittek has his eye on Florida Gators

A Connecticut native, Max Wittek took his football and moved all the way to the other side of the country last year to become the starting quarterback at prestigious Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. Quite a move, but it was one that gave him a chance to measure his development against better competition than he saw in the Nutmeg State. And, there one was very big catch with this move.
