(By JC Shurburtt / ESPN Recruiting) TAMPA, Fla. -- Florida-bound tight end A.C. Leonard (Interlachen, Fla./Interlachen) had a dominant two-day performance and was the top overall prospect at the Badger Sport Elite 7-on-7 tournament at the University of South Florida this past weekend.

TAMPA -- When Zach Azzanni took over Billy Gonzales' position as wider receivers coach on the Florida staff in December, he had a singular mission -- improve the talent base of the wide receivers corps.

CITRA -- Players from north-central Florida gathered for a 7-on-7 football practice on Saturday, March 6 at Wrigley Fields Park in preparation for the Badger Sport Tournament that will be held March 13-14 in Tampa.

Ever since National Signing Day came and went back in February, it seems everywhere I turn, that the first question anyone wants to ask is “who will Florida sign at quarterback this year?”

LAKELAND --- One of the more underrated perks per winning a state championship is the ride home. Having endured the ride home from hell last year after Winter Park lost in the Class 6A championship game to Orlando Olympia, Austin Rivers savored the thought of celebrating with his teammates on the hour-long bus ride home Saturday night after the Wildcats blew out cross-town rival Dr. Phillips, 76-57, at the Lakeland Center.

LAKELAND --- Austin Rivers is all Gator all the time. Sort of. He says he loves the Gators, but nearly every time he adds the words “right now” into his explanations, which seems to leave the door open that he might not be a Gator in 2011.

LAKELAND --- Brandon Knight casts a weary eye skyward, almost as if he’s saying, “Lord, just let this get over with quickly.” Reporters with microphones have stopped him in the hallway and he already knows the subject before the first question is asked. There are certain aspects of recruiting that don’t bother him at all. All the attention he’s getting does bother him and he’s ready to get it over with. Soon can’t get here soon enough.

A Connecticut native, Max Wittek took his football and moved all the way to the other side of the country last year to become the starting quarterback at prestigious Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. Quite a move, but it was one that gave him a chance to measure his development against better competition than he saw in the Nutmeg State. And, there one was very big catch with this move.

LAKE BUENA VISTA --- On Sunday, Jeff Driskel (6-3, 225, Oviedo, FL Hagerty) stood out amongst a talented group of quarterbacks at the Elite 11 Camp at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. As the top quarterback prospect in the state of Florida, it should come as no surprise that the offers are starting to pour in for Driskell.
