On Thursday, the Florida Gators picked up their first verbal commitment for the Class of 2014.

Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar receiver Ryeshene Bronson committed to Florida while on campus.

“I just committed to Florida,” Bronson said. “Offensive coordinator Brent Pease and the rest of the coaching staff was a big reason, plus they have great academics.”

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound receiver gave the news to coach Will Muschamp after the camp was over, and Muschamp had a strong message to send to Bronson.

“He said this was big,” Bronson said. “He said he’s not sleeping tonight because he is excited.”

As a sophomore, Bronson had 495 yards receiving and six touchdowns at Dunbar. He chose Florida over offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami and South Carolina.
