Gator Country staff members Justin Wells and Tim Casey were in attendance for Riverdale's 27-24 defeat of district rival South Fort Myers on Thursday night. Junior Sammy Watkins is one of the state's top prospects – regardless of class – and he showed why in a six-catch, 99-yard performance that was capped off by a six-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dallas Crawford with 1:22 to go which cut the Riverdale lead to 4. The Wolfpack would get no closer, and fall to 8-1 on the season with the loss.
