UF Recruiting: Prep Recap Week 12

Every Thursday, Gator Country will run a high school preview of all of the current commits and a few of Florida’s biggest targets and follow that up with a recap on Monday.

All games are on Friday unless otherwise noted.

Union County (Fla.) 21, Crescent City (Fla.) 0 — Florida defensive tackle commitment Caleb Brantley and Crescent City were eliminated from the playoffs and will finish the season 6-5. Brantley had two sacks in the loss.

Armwood (Fla.) 10, Largo (Fla.) 6 — Gators receiver commitment Alvin Bailey and Armwood will move into the second round of the playoffs. Bailey played quarterback last week in the win.

Canton (Mich.) and UF offensive lineman commitment Cameron Dillard ended the season 6-4 on the year.

Bishop Kenny (Fla.) 16, Ponte Vedra (Fla.) 13 — Florida receiver commitment Ahmad Fulwood had two touchdowns and also had a late interception that sealed the win for Bishop Kenny.

Dr. Phillips (Fla.) 34, Wharton (Fla.) 14 — UF cornerback commitment Vernon Hargreaves and Wharton were not able to punch it in on offense as Wharton had the ball inside the 5-yard line three times and failed to score. Wharton finishes the year at 8-3 on the year.

Carver (Ga.) 42, Dodge County 21 (Ga.)- Florida receiver commitment Marqui Hawkins had three catches for 73 yards in the playoff win.

Colquitt County (Ga.) 30, McEachern (Ga.) 20 — Gators offensive lineman Octavius Jackson and Colquitt County moved onto the second round with the win.

Lincoln (Fla.) 27, Fleming Island (Fla.) 17 — Florida linebacker commitment James Hearns and Lincoln moved into the second round with the win.

Pasco (Fla.) 34, North Marion (Fla.) 10 — UF defensive lineman commitment Joey Ivie had 4.5 sacks in the playoff win.

Winter Haven (Fla.) 24, New Smyrna Beach (Fla.) 20 — Florida running back commitment Adam Lane had 143 yards rushing including a 50-yard touchdown.

Buchholz (Fla.) 10, First Coast (Fla.) 7 — Gators linebacker commitment Daniel McMillian and First Coast ended the year 10-1.

South Sumter (Fla.) 29, Raines (Fla.) 28 — Florida safety commitment Keanu Neal and South Sumter denied Raines 2-point conversion at the end of regulation to hold on for the win.

Mainland (Fla.) 49, Lake Gibson (Fla.) 42 — UF linebacker commitment Quinton Powell and Mainland advance to the second round. Powell was named the defensive Most Valuable Player for his area on Sunday.

Archer (Ga.) and Gators defensive lineman commitment Antonio Riles ended their season with a 6-4 record.

Hillsborough (Fla.) 42, Osceola (Fla.) 7 — Florida defensive line commitment Jordan Sherit is out for the year for Hillsborough with a torn ACL.

Memphis University (Tenn.) 46, Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) 45 — Gators quarterback commitment Max Staver and Brentwood ended their season in the state semifinals.

Glades Day (Fla.) 39, Champagnat Catholic (Fla.) 14 — Florida running back commitment Kelvin Taylor had 213 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Gainesville (Fla.) 60, Hernando (Fla.) 3 — UF receiver commitment Chris Thompson had a 80-yard touchdown catch in the win.

Pensacola Catholic (Fla.) 22, Trinity Christian (Fla.) 21 — Florida safety commitment Nick Washington and Trinity Christian ended their year with a 9-2 record.

FYI, Alvin Bailey was also voted the games MVP in that win over Largo Friday night.
