Top 2015 RB Patrick ‘loves’ Florida

 |  July 31, 2012  |  0 Comments

Heavily recruited 2015 running back Jacques Patrick intended on participating in Friday Night Lights this past Friday, however trouble with finding transportation to the camp derailed those plans.

Despite not making it to the Florida football camp, Patrick still holds the Gators high on his list, saying that he loves the school.

“I’ve been there twice and loved it,” Patrick said. “I love everything about it from the facilities to the campus and I like Florida because there’s something that just makes them different from some of the other programs, but I still have three years to find that something out.”

The Orlando East River sophomore ran for 1,162 yards and eight touchdowns in his freshman season. With scholarship offers from schools like Florida, Florida State and Alabama, Patrick says the early attention is just a huge honor.

“Honestly, it’s truly a honor and a blessing to get all this attention and offers from these schools,” Patrick said. “Even though it’s a great accomplishment, I always remain humble and not let it get in the way of me being a regular teenager.”

One of the things Patrick looks for when evaluating a school is a strong connection with the coaching staff. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound running back acknowledged that he has a strong relationship with the Florida coaching staff.

“I’ve been in contact with [Will] Muschamp and Travaris Robinson. [Our relationship] is pretty good, but it could get better,” Patrick said. “What I mean by that is it’s never bad to have a strong relationship with a coaching staff, especially if you plan on being at their program for three to four years.”

“I would say my relationship with [Florida] is one of the top relationships so far,” Patrick added.

Patrick plans on making a trip up to Gainesville during the regular season when the Gators play LSU on Oct. 6.
