Kevin Newsome

Ryan Moss has been covering Florida recruiting for Gator Country for the past two years. He’s in constant contact with a number of outstanding young prospects on a regular basis. Here is the first of his monthly reports detailing what is going on in the recruiting process of the players that he keeps tabs on.

Quarterbacks (3): Kevin Newsome, Denard Robinson, and Eugene Smith

Kevin Newsome (6-3, 210, Chesapeake, VA Western Branch): Committed to Michigan back in April, but has since received an offer from the Gators. Since committing he has only been talking to Michigan websites. I think the chance to play early in Ann Arbor was very appealing to him, but Michigan has another quarterback commit and is still after other quarterbacks as well, so that may cause him to reconsider.
