RECRUITING: Wynn to take time deciding

 |  November 8, 2006

Jarius Wynn is considered as one of the top JUCO defensive ends in the nation. He is currently leading the Georgia Military Academy to a successful season and continues to draw nearer to a decision.

“We’re having a solid season. The guys on this team are playing really well. We’re 6-2 right now and we have two games left.”

The 6’4.5”, 270 pound defensive end is being heavily recruited by many top tier teams in the SEC.

“I’ve got a top five of Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia. I’ve got offers from all those schools and they’re all looking at me as a defensive end.”

Wynn loves the relationship he has developed with Florida’s Coach Mattison.

“Coach Mattison is recruiting me from Florida. I get to talk to him about once every week. He wants me as a defensive end. He keeps telling me that he sees my leadership characteristics and that if I come in and work hard, I can play early. He’s honest with me about that.”

“Georgia has been recruiting me for a while and so has South Carolina. Those two are definitely still in the mix.”

Though the four-star defensive end claims to be down to five schools, he will be taking his visits shortly.

“I go to South Carolina on the 17th (of November). I’ll be at Georgia for the Georgia Tech game on November 25th. I’m not sure when I will go to Florida and Auburn, but it looks like they will be in early December.”

With Wynn not having been on any official visits yet, it will be a while before he decides where he will play football.

“I really need to see these schools before I decide where to play. It’s going to be at least a month.”

Jarius Wynn has been one of the most highly recruited junior college players in the nation this season. Claiming offers from most of the top SEC schools, it is obvious he will create havoc for some major college football team for the next two years.
