RECRUITING: Houston committed, but looking
One of the top two way players in the state of North Carolina, Ryan Houston continues to remain committed to the University of North Carolina. Though his commitment remains strong, he continues to hear from other schools.
With the playoffs winding down, Ryan Houston continues to lead the David W. Butler football team into the playoffs.
“We have our semifinal game on Saturday. We won this past week 34-26. I ran for 140 yards and scored two touchdowns.”
As Houston puts his focus on the North Carolina state playoffs, he has put recruiting on the back burner for now. However he still claims a commitment to the Tar Heels.
“Yeah I’m still committed to North Carolina. I’m still looking around though, but I won’t take any visits or make any type of decision until my season is over.”
When it comes to the schools still on the four star running back, he claims to only be hearing from two other schools.
“It’s pretty much just Louisville and Florida that I still hear from. I like that they’re both playing good football this year.”
“I talk to Coach Holliday every once in a while. He wants me as a big running back.
As far as visits, the 6’2”, 250 pound running back has nothing on the horizon. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t end up in Gainesville or Louisville for a weekend visit.
“I’m really not sure at this point. I may take some visits after my seasons over, but right now my focus is on winning Saturday. After the season is over, I’ll sit down with my coach and we’ll figure it all out.”
Wherever he goes, Ryan Houston says he wants to be comfortable and get along with the players.
The school that Houston signs with on National Signing Day will be getting one of the top power backs in the nation. Houston’s ability to run over defenders is something many schools could use, and explains why many schools will continue to pursue him until his letter of intent is signed.
