Patrick very high on Florida after visit

 |  January 5, 2013  |  0 Comments

The first weekend of January is usually a quiet one for visits as coaches are usually at the hotels of the All-American games to see senior prospects.

With that said Florida is hosting a few prospects this weekend and one of those is 2015 Orlando (Fla.) Timber Creek running back Jacques Patrick.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Patrick was passing through Gainesville and decided to stop in for a visit even though most coaches were gone.

“It was a good visit,” Patrick said. “Coach (Brent) Pease was the only one there because the rest of the coaches were in San Antonio and coach (Will) Muschamp was out of town, too.”

Even though there was only coach for Patrick to talk with and show him around, he still got a lot accomplished on this visit.

“We had a very good talk,” Patrick said. “We watched my film and he was breaking it down with me and telling me things to work on. He was also telling me about the program and stuff. Florida has a lot of good things to offer you.”

After watching film with Pease the two went around to check out the facilities and also meet UF strength and conditioning coach Jeff Dillman.

“I got to sit down with coach Dillman,” Patrick said. “He broke down how he does things in the weight room, what he could do for me and how he could get me ready for the next level if I choose Florida. He showed me how all of the machines work in the weight room and what they do for a player.”

Even though Patrick has seen the facilities and the campus at Florida, he is still taken aback by the size of everything.

“Everything is bigger at Florida,” Patrick said. “They have very nice facilities and a big weight room and one of the biggest locker rooms I’ve seen.”

While Patrick still has a long way to go in his recruitment he says Florida is in his top group, along with Florida State.

“I don’t have a top 5 or anything,” Patrick said. “But Florida is in my top group and I plan to visit them again for their junior day at the end of January.”
