Noor Davis chooses Stanford
THE VILLAGES- Though many students and friends were decked out in Gator attire, highly recruiting linebacker Noor Davis surprised many on Friday afternoon by choosing to play football at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Ca. next season.
Davis, who announced his decision in the cafeteria of The Villages Charter School (FL), verbally committed to Stanford over Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame, and USC.
Davis, who carries a 4.3 weighted GPA, said that he has known for a while that he wanted to go to Stanford.
“I just feel like there was no better place where I could further my education than a world-class school like Stanford,” Davis said.
The 6-foot-4 225-pound linebacker has already committed to play in the Under Armour All-American game. As a junior Davis accumulated 101 tackles eight sacks and three forced fumbles.
Davis is ranked as one of the top linebackers in the country according to most recruiting services and has garnered over 30 scholarship offers from BCS schools.
Verbal commitments are non-binding until a letter of intent is signed in February of 2012.

Let’s just pressure him like Bama fans did with kuanjo or however you spell it. I mean this does not make a lot of sense. He loves journalism and we have 1 of the best but he picks Stanford that’s 3000 miles away! Dang this sucks. We are in need of LB and we can’t land of of the best that’s right in our back yard! Oh well at the end of the day he is not a gator best of luck to the kid.
