Muschamp offers top JUCO OL

 |  March 12, 2013  |  0 Comments

The Gators already have two offensive lineman committed for the Class of 2014. The coaching staff is not done yet though, on monday Muschamp offered one of the top JUCO offensive lineman.

That prospect was Scanton (PA.) Lackawanna Community College offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor.

“It was a big day for me,” Eluemunor said. “Coach (Will) Muschamp and (Tim) Davis both were on the phone with me and then coach Muschamp offered me. He knows a lot about me already. He said that he never offers JUCO players this early. said the reason he offered me was because he liked my style of play and wanted me to start considering Florida harder.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Eluemunor was trying to qualify in 2013 but came up a few credits shy, so Will Muschamp and Davis actually watched him play last year.

“They were my game against Georgia Military last year,” Eluemunor said. “Coach said he wants me to visit ASAP and that he thinks I’m a better player inside at either guard or center. I usually play guard, but I’m ok with moving inside if they think it’s best for me.”

Eluemunor plans to visit Florida this summer or fall and will try to visit the Gators twice.

One of the big draws for Eluemunor to Florida is the change of offense under Brent Pease compared to year’s past.

“Florida has moved back to the ground and pound game like before,” Eluemunor said. “Coach Davis likes guys that pull on the line and that are athletic and aggressive in run blocking and I think I fit that style of play. As a player, I think I’m aggressive and have good feet while still being physical.”

Like most offensive line coaches, Tim Davis is a loud and high energy offensive line coach and that was clear and direct with Eluemunor from the start.

“Coach Davis is very energetic and high tempo,” Eluemunor said. “I really like him as a coach from the moment I met him last year at my game. He is a real fun guy to talk too.”

Eluemunor says he plans to announce a top 5 this spring and will make a decision in December before enrolling at a school in January.
