UF Recruiting: Prep recap Week 5

Every Thursday, Gator Country will run a high school preview of all of the current commits and a few of Florida’s biggest targets.

We will follow that up with a recap of how each of the Gators' prospects performed on Mondays.

Chiefland (Fla.) 34 — Crescent City (Fla.) 0—Florida defensive lineman commitment Caleb Brantley and Crescent City suffered their fourth loss of the season as they were shut out against Chiefland. Brantley didn’t see much action in the second half.

Armwood (Fla.) 35 — Jefferson (Fla.) 21—Armwood moved to 4-1 on the year as Florida receiver commitment Alvin Bailey, on the Armwood offense, scored 35 unanswered points.

Canton (Mich.) 35 — Franklin (Mich.) 34—Florida offensive lineman commitment Cameron Dillard led his Canton team to their fourth win of the season on Friday.

Ridgeview (Fla.)42 — Bishop Kenny (Fla.) 35—Florida receiver commitment Ahmad Fulwood had eight catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the loss for Bishop Kenny.

Durant (Fla.) 13 — Wharton (Fla.) 12—Wharton suffered their first loss of the season, but Florida cornerback commitment Vernon Hargreaves III had a forced fumble, an interception and a blocked field goal in the loss.

Carver (Ga.) 38 — Pike County (Ga.) 3—Florida receiver commitment Marqui Hawkins had seven catches for 106 yards and a touchdown in the win for Carver last Friday.

Colquitt County (Ga.) 14 — Lowndes (Ga.) 17—Colquitt County suffered their second loss of the season and in the region as Florida offensive lineman commitment Octavius Jackson and the Colquitt offense struggled on offense.

Lincoln (Fla.) 3 — Rickards (Fla.) 3—Florida linebacker commitment James Hearns and Lincoln dominated the game from the start and didn’t allow a point until late in the second half in the win.

Pasco (Fla.) 3 — Anclote (Fla.) 0—Florida defensive lineman commitment Joey Ivie and the Pasco defense has not allowed a touchdown in the last nine quarters. This was their second consecutive shutout.
Winter Haven (Fla.) had a bye week this week.

First Coast (Fla.) 34 — West Nassau (Fla.) 24—Florida linebacker commitment Daniel McMillian had a 76-yard touchdown on a fake punt to lead First Coast to a win.

South Sumter (Fla.) 35 — Dunnellon (Fla.) 7—South Sumter moved to 5-0 on the season as Florida safety commitment Keanu Neal had 15 tackles and a tackle for a loss for South Sumter.

Seminole (Fla.) 20 — Mainland (Fla.) 0—Florida linebacker commitment Quinton Powell had the Mainland defense gave up 20 points early in the first half but the offense for Mainland were shutout for their second loss this year.

Archer (Ga.) 17 — Dacula (Ga.) 14- Florida defensive lineman commitment Antonio Riles and Archer got back on the winning track as they stopped a two-game losing streak.

Hillsborough (Fla.) 64 — Leto (Fla.) 0—Florida defensive lineman commitment Jordan Sherit and his Hillsborough team had their second consecutive shutout this week.

Brentwood Academy (Tn.) 34 — Baylor (Tn.) 16—Florida quarterback commitment Max Staver returned this week and went 11 for 18 for 179 yards and a touchdown. He also added a rushing touchdown in the win.

Yulee (Fla.) 42 — Glades Day (Fla.) 6—Florida running back commitment Kelvin Taylor had 26 carries for 233 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Gainesville (Fla.) 40 — Eastside (Fla.) 0—Florida receiver commitment Chris Thompson did not play due to a foot injury.

Trinity Christian (Fla.) 36 — University Christian (Fla.) 8—Florida safety commitment Nick Washington had 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win.
