Harris picks up his dream offer

 |  March 2, 2013  |  1 Comment

Florida hosted an unofficial visitor on Friday when Winter Park (Fla.) High defensive end Trent Harris visited Florida.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Harris received some good news from Will Muschamp as he picked up a big offer from Florida during his visit.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp offered me,” Harris said. “He said I was a great player and that thought I would I fit into the defense at Florida great as a BUCK linebacker.”

“This offer means a lot to me because I grew up a Florida fan,” Harris said. “I’m still taking it all in, but I would say Florida is at the top right now.”

The offer didn’t completely surprise Harris, but it was still a little unexpected as this was his first time talking to the head man at Florida.

“I wasn’t surprised but I wasn’t expecting it either,” Harris said. “ I thought that I may get one because coach (Travaris) Robinson had invited me up for a visit, so I knew they were interested. But I had never talked to coach Muschamp before, until Friday.”

While on his visit, the junior defensive lineman was able to see the campus and the facilities that Florida has to offer.

“I really liked the setup of the campus,” Harris said. “The weight room was also very nice and I got the chance to meet coach (Jeff) Dillman. He was a really nice guy, but he is also very intense, and he means business in the weight room.”

Growing up a Florida fan, Harris has watched the Gators on TV a ton. Harris said the style of play on the defensive line is what really draws him to the Gators.

“The defensive line is always very good,” Harris said. “They are always quick off of the ball and very athletic. I think I can fit in with those guys.”

Harris wants to make his decision after his spring game in May. He plans to return to Gainesville for a visit sometime this spring.

Nice stuff Andrew.  For Muschamp to mention the Buck position, this kid Harris must really be something.  I’m excited for the kid, great stuff… thanks
