Gators offer JUCO OL Trenton Brown

 |  February 27, 2012  |  0 Comments

Milledgeville, Ga., offensive tackle Trenton Brown has two offers after picking up another big one on Friday.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp called my coach and then talked to me,” Brown said. “He told me he was offering me a scholarship to Florida and that he wants me at Florida next year.”

The lack of depth on the offensive line was something Muschamp used as a recruiting tool for the 6-foot-8, 350-pound Brown.

“He told me they are losing some offensive linemen this year,” Brown said. “He said they only signed two last year and they needed more. Coach also said that Florida is a good situation for me as I can play early at Florida.”

The junior college offensive linemen expects more scholarship offer soon.

“Florida and Georgia are the only two offers for me right now,” Brown said. “But other schools are calling me, so I’m just going to be patient and wait for more to come.”

A trip to Gainesville, Fla., is in the future for the Georgia Military prospect. He wants to see first-hand what Florida can offer him.

“I plan on visiting them this spring,” Brown said. “I know that they are a top program and one of the best in the (Southeastern Conference), but that’s all I really know about them right now. I want to meet the coaching staff and see all of the facilities and the campus when I go down there for a visit this spring.”

Brown projects to be a mid-year enrollee, but admits he is nowhere close to making a college decision.

“I’m most likely going to wait until after football season to make my decision,” Brown said. “I want to take all of my visits and see what school fits me best. I’m looking for a place that is like family and feels like home to me and a good coaching staff.”

Early playing time is something Brown would like, but it’s not a necessity for him.

“Florida has told me I could play early there,” Smith said. “But if I choose a school and they want me to redshirt that’s OK, too. Whichever is best for me and the team is fine with me.”
