Florida offers 2014 safety Jamal Adams

 |  December 21, 2012  |  0 Comments

The 2012 and 2013 classes both include really good secondary players, and that’s a trend Florida coach Will Muschamp wants to continue.

Last week, the Gators offered 2014 Lewisville (Texas) Hebron safety Jamal Adams while they were visiting his school.

“Coach (Travaris) Robinson offered me a scholarship to Florida,” Adams said. “It’s an honor and a big offer for me. I’m very blessed to get an offer from Florida. It’s a good feeling.”

The 6-foot, 189-pound Adams may be from the state of Texas, but he made sure to watch Florida play this fall on TV.

“Coach (Will) Muschamp is a defensive minded coach,” Adams said. “I really like their defense a lot. They run a 4-2-5 defense a lot where they keep five to six defensive backs on the field. That’s a good thing for me, because I’m a defensive back.”

While Adams has yet to visit Florida he has plans to see them and also knows where the Gators stand in his top group early in his recruitment.

“Yes, I’m going to visit Florida,” Adams said. “I plan to visit them in March and check out their facilities and meet all of the coaches and see the campus. Right now, Florida is my top group along with a few other schools that have offered me so far.”

During Adams junior campaign he had 63 tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble.

When Adams wasn’t on defense he was playing offense, and he had impressive stats there as well as he had 239 yards rushing and six touchdowns.

Adams has been clocked at 4.4 in the 40-yard dash and post a 295-pound bench press and a 445-pound squat max.
