Florida Gators recruiting notebook
It’s been a crazy couple of days in terms of Florida football recruiting. For the Gators, it’s been a good kind of crazy.
Four prospects verbally committed to Florida over a four-day stretch and there’s a possibility for a fifth in five days with Gainesville (Fla.) High receiver Chris Thompson saying he’ll commit on the spot if he receives a scholarship offer when he meets with Gators football coach Will Muschamp on Monday afternoon.
Three of the pledges were Class of 2013 prospects with Vernon Hargreaves III, Antonio Riles and Jordan Sherit all pulling the trigger on their commitments to Florida. They give the Gators 20 commitments in this class, which now ranks No. 1 nationally by recruiting networks. In addition, defensive tackle Travonte Valentine became the second commitment in the Gators’ Class of 2014.
