DT Adams praises Gators’ facilities

Florida hosted a big player last weekend for an official visit in Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County defensive tackle Montravius Adams.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Adams was accompanied on the trip by his mom and he said the visit was a successful one.

“It was a good overall trip,” Adams said. “It was good for both me and mom to sit down and talk with the coaches and also see the school again but this time more in depth."

The last time Adams was at Florida was for the LSU game, and he wasn’t able to see the campus or the facilities but this time he did.

“The school was really nice,” Adams said. “It was a big campus but very nice, and the weight room was huge. They have stuff in their weight room that other schools don’t have nor do they have as big of weight room.”

While in the weight room, Adams was able to sit down and talk with strength and condition coach Jeff Dillman who laid out a plan for him if he chooses Florida.

“He was telling me about all of the machines in the weight room,” Adams said. “He was telling me a lot of stuff and he was showing me a plan for what he could do for me. He showed me some pictures of when guys came in as freshman and what he has done with their body already and how much of a body change they have had.”

Following the meeting with Dillman, Adams and his mother headed to meet with Will Muschamp in his office.

“Me and my mom talked to Coach Muschamp at separate times,” Adams said. “I’m not sure what he told her, but he told me he wanted me to come to Florida and play early. He said that he would give me the opportunity to play a lot as a freshman. He said he would use me at defensive tackle and defensive end just like they do with Dominique Easley.”

Adams has said for months that he has a great relationship with defensive line coach Bryant Young and last weekend he was able to talk more with him.

“We have a great relationship,” Adams said. “We had a real good talk and we just talked about the usual stuff about how he could help me get better and how he could get me ready for the next level and that’s my goal.”

The mother of the Georgia prep star is going to play a big role in Adams’ decision, and he said she had a good visit with Florida and came away feeling comfortable with the coaching staff of the Gators.

Next up for Adams are trips to Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and possibly Auburn, and he said he will make a decision after that.

“After all of my visits I’ll narrow it down,” Adams said. “I’ll make my decision on National Signing Day, but Florida will factor into my decision.”

Muschamp is scheduled to see Adams for an in-home visit closer to signing day, according to Adams.

What a monster get that would be.  We could really use the depth and ability Montravius Adams would bring to the D-line.
