Defense is a blessing for Fitzgerald

After starting last season 1-2, Coach Todd Smith of the WWPHS-South Campus Pirates decided to make some changes. One of those changes was moving 6-3, 227-pound J.B. Fitzgerald from defensive end to linebacker. Coach Smith’s changes worked out and the Pirates finished the season winning six of its last seven games. As for Fitzgerald, the move was a blessing in disguise as he went from a little known New Jersey prospect to one of the top linebacker prospects in the country.
