DE Ogundeko names leader ahead of visit

 |  November 13, 2012  |  0 Comments

The Gators will host official visitors this weekend in Gainesville when Florida takes on Jacksonville State.

One of those will be Brooklyn (N.Y.) Thomas Jefferson defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko.

“I’m excited to get down to Florida,” Ogundeko said. “I have visited Florida in the past but I want to see more of the school and campus this time around. I want to see the game day atmosphere and the town is. Another big thing is for to see how I fit into the defense at Florida.”

The 6-foot-3, 227-pound Ogundeko says he has a clear leader heading into this weekend’s visit.

“Florida is my leader,” Ogundeko said. “I love everything about the Gators. They have a great school and they have a winning tradition. It has always been my dream to go to Florida and play for them.”

This season, Ogundeko has paid a close attention to Florida and in particular the play of its linebackers.

“I love Florida’s defense,” Ogundeko said. “They have been playing really well all season and haven’t allowed many points. Coach (Will) Muschamp has talked to me about playing the Buck linebacker position so I have been watching them play. I think they have been playing great and I think I could fit in at Buck at Florida.”

Ogundeko has already taken one official visit earlier this year, and he said he may take more after the Florida visit.

“I visited Arizona State earlier this year,” Ogundeko said. “I’ll be at Florida this weekend and I may visit Ole Miss, Syracuse and Clemson but I’m not sure of the dates or anything.”
Ogundeko will travel alone on his visits and says that Florida is recruiting him the hardest right now.”
